COVID restrictions

TOPOSYM follows the Ministry of Health's covid restrictions, which, currently, are none: you don't need a covid pass, a mask, or a vaccination certificate, and the congress will not require any such thing. However, please be aware that this might change in the meantime.

The venue

The conference will be held at the Czech Technical University in Prague, Faculty of Architecture, Thakurova 9, 166 34, Praha 6, Czech Republic (map).

The Czech Republic is a country in Central Europe. The most convenient way to get to the Czech Republic is to fly to the Vaclav Havel Airport (PRG, more info).

The local currency is the Czech Crown (CZK), the exchange rate is about 1 EUR to 25 CZK and about 1 USD to 23 CZK.

To travel within Prague, you might want to use the public transportation. See the pages of Prague's public transit company for the traffic scheme and tickets. There are three subway ("metro") lines in Prague: A (green), B (yellow), C (red). The conference site is located near the metro station Dejvická on the A line, the tram stop Dejvická (trams 8 and 26), and the bus stop Dejvická. The conference building is a short walk through the university campus.

Arrival by plane

To get from the airport to the conference venue, take bus no. 119 from the airport to its final stop Nádraží Veleslavín, then take the metro A line to Dejvická. The journey takes about 30 minutes: use a 30 minute ticket (valid for 30 minutes after validating it in the bus). The city transport company provides more info about transport to/from the airport and sells tickets in the info centres at the airport.

To get to the city centre (Náměstí Republiky station), you can take the Airport Express bus. You will buy a 100 CZK ticket from the driver.

If you prefer taxi, use FIX Taxi or Taxi Praha, the official taxi services of the PRG airport. You can find taxi cars in front of the arrivals halls of both terminals.

Arrival by train

If you get to Prague by train, you will probably arrive either at Hlavní nádraží (the Main Railway Station), or possibly at Nádraží Holešovice. To get to the conference venue, we recommend using public transportation. Both Hlavní nádraží and Nádraží Holešovice are on the metro C line. Go to Muzeum, the C/A transfer station; from there, take the A line to Dejvická.

Arrival by bus

Arriving by bus, you will probably arrive either at Florenc or at Černý most. Both stations are on the metro B line. Go to Můstek, the B/A transfer station; from there, take the A line to Dejvická.

Passport and visa requirements

Visitors from non-EU countries must posses a passport valid for the necessary period. Participants requiring a visa should apply immediately to the consular office or embassy of the Czech Republic in their country in order to avoid inconvenience. Please note that the visa application procedure can take up to two months. For more detailed information please consult the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or your embassy.

The conference office assists the participants by processing an official invitation upon request. This letter of invitation, however, constitutes no obligation by either the office or by the organizing committee to cover any travel and accommodation expenses, fees or other costs connected with attending the meeting and staying in the Czech Republic. The information needed for such assistance is your full name, date of birth, country of citizenship (country which issued your passport), passport number, institution (+ city, country).
